Mumbai,
PV.Anandpadmanabhan :- The Face Recognition System (FRS) pressed into service at the Mantralaya will increase the security as well as bring more transparency in the government functioning, besides accelerating it. The administration has appealed to all the government officials, employees and public representatives to register for this FRS system so as to ensure easy and hassle free entry.
The FRS system will help in ensuring the identity of each and every person visiting the Mantralaya and it will curb unauthorized entry. Due to control on the unwarranted entry, the security of the Mantralaya will be enhanced. This technology will help in overcoming the entrance of unauthorized persons in the Mantralaya. This will help in curbing the crowd and bring about transparency and boost the ease of doing government work at Mantralaya. The FRS technology will help authorized persons to enter the Mantralaya and in turn, this will accelerate the functioning of the secretariat which will gain momentum for completing the public work with more speed.
Various facilities have been made available for the entrance of officers, employees and public representatives and so they will not have to face any sort of obstruction. However, it will be necessary for all of them to register their face detection and as such an appeal is made to all of them for registering their face detection at the earliest. Instructions have been given to the officers and employees for uploading the necessary data for face reading so that the face reading system is updated and the process of entering the secretariat for officers and employees will become more smooth and easy.
The entry in Mantralaya to all the officers and employees is given in accordance with the security of the secretariat based on facial Recognition and RFID Cards. The details of 10 thousand 500 officers and employees which was received from the Information and Technology department has been fed in the said system and accordingly, the Facial Recognition System has been installed at all the entrance gates by the implementing company. This technology has been made ‘Go Live’. Since January 2025, all the officers, employees and contractual employees are granted permission to enter the secretary at Mantralaya on the basis of Facial Recognition and RFID Cards.
Mantralaya is considered as a very sensitive and significant place and hence the security of establishment becomes more important. In accordance with that, the decision to implement an internal security project in the Mantralaya was taken at the government level. This security project is implemented in two phases. The second phase of the project under the integrated security and surveillance of Mantralaya premises is being implemented as an extension of phase 1 project.
The administrative approval has been recorded for the implementation of works and annual maintenance of the security project Phase 2. Similarly, the entrance at the Mantralaya will be ensured through the online system based on DG Pravesh app for visitors as well as officials and employees who are discharging the duties at various divisional offices.
