MAHA, Government determined to women’s safety along with their economic empowerment CM Eknath Shinde

:“The state government is empowering women through the different government schemes including the Mukhyamantri- Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojna . It is determined to make women strong. Along with making women economically self- reliant, we are very sensitive about the safety and protection of women. Strict measures are being taken at all levels in this direction,” said chief minister Eknath Shinde.

He was speaking in Nagpur while distributing the benefit of the second phase of the Mukhyamantri- Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojna, today. The benefit for the second phase of Mukhyamantri- Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojna was today distributed in a representative way to the beneficiaries at a program held at Resham Bagh ground. Union Minister for road transportation and highways Nitin Gadkari, deputy chief minister and guardian minister of Nagpur Devendra Fadnavis, deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, rural development and tourism minister Girish Mahajan, food and drugs administration minister Dharmarao Baba Atram, woman and child development minister Aditi Tatkare and others were among the prominent present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Shinde extending his greetings to the women and sisters present on the occasion, asserted that in the first phase 3 thousand 225 crore rupees have been deposited directly into the accounts of 1 crore 7 lakh beneficiary sisters and today in the second phase, 1562 crore rupees of stipend had been transferred to the bank accounts of 52 lakh beneficiary women. In all, 1 crore 60 lakh sisters have been directly benefited through the scheme till date.

Stating that the benefit of the coffer of the state should reach the common people, the chief minister said that because of good implementation of the scheme, there is an atmosphere of satisfaction amongst the women of the state. He appealed to the women not to fall prey to any propaganda in this regard. He said that this scheme is permanent and it will be going on in the future too, adding that the amount of benefit will be further enhanced. He said that for a common woman, rupees 1500 is a big amount and it will help them to become economically independent, as a result this Mukhyamantri- Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojna will also boost the economy of the state.

The Chief Minister exuded confidence that more than 50 lakh women will be made Lakhpati under the Lakhpati Didi scheme which is the concept implemented by the honorable Prime Minister. He said that the government is taking various decisions with sensitivity. The chief minister asserted that the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana has been implemented for the youth of the state and they are getting benefited due to the scheme.

Reiterating that the state government is working in a sensitive way, he said that as soon as the government learnt that the girls ended their lives as they were not having money to pay the educational fees, the state government took the decision to waive off the entire educational fees for the girls. He said that the government of the state is the ‘Government of common people’ and it is efficiently working and extending assistance to the common people. He said that this government has implemented schemes for various constituents of the society and at the same time it maintains a good balance between the development and welfare schemes for common people. He said thatk through all these schemes, efforts are onk to empower women and lpriority is also given for their safety. He assured that strict actions will be taken against those found guilty.
