- Focus Sector of the centre is Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM). The Centre being equipped with state‑of‑the‑art machines and labs, will provide MSMEs access to advanced technologies such as Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) Line, additive manufacturing, CNC 5‑Axis and 3‑Axis machines, Electric Discharge Machine (EDM), etc. It will also offer comprehensive support through testing laboratories, design assistance, and business & technical advisory services to enhance MSMEs/Industry technological capabilities, productivity, and competitiveness.
- The Centre catchment area has a strong ecosystem of leading industries and institutions such as Mitsubishi Electric India, Texas Instruments, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), National Aerospace Laboratories, (NAL), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Airbus, Boeing, Philips, Wipro, GE, Centum Electronics etc., and numerous MSMEs engaged in aerospace, defence, semiconductor design, industrial automation, and advanced electronics manufacturing.
- The Centre will also contribute towards skilling youth by providing industry grade training in the area of embedded system design, PCB Design and Assembly, automation & robotics, maintenance and repair, etc. TC is equipped to train 10,000 trainees every year.
- The Technology Centre, Bengaluru is envisaged as a key institution for strengthening the MSME ecosystem in electronics and aerospace sectors through advanced design, prototyping, production, training, and consultancy services. The Centre is also expected to make a substantial contribution towards creating employment opportunities and promoting sustainable livelihoods in Karnataka.
