Mumbai.
‘Jagrato Bangla’ strongly protested against the atrocities happening under government protection in Bangladesh and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Mumbai. Members of ‘Jagrato Bangla’ strongly protested against the large scale atrocities happening under government protection after the change of power in Bangladesh. Obeying the prohibitory orders and following due procedure, the representatives of the organization visited the office of the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh at Cuffe Parade, Mumbai and submitted a memorandum demanding the immediate release of Sri Chinmay Das Prabhu and other religious leaders of ISKCON. The representatives of ‘Jagrato Bangla’ reminded the mission officials how India had helped Bangladesh in its independence and also reminded that Hindus and other minorities of Bangladesh had equally participated in their liberation struggle along with Mukti Bahini.
Speaking to reporters, Mumbai BJP vice-president Acharya Pawan Tripathi said that the way religious extremists have been given a free hand in Bangladesh and the kind of atrocities being committed on minorities is unfortunate. While the Jihadis are being released by the authorities, minority religious leaders and gurus are being arrested without any reason. We demand from the caretaker government that Hindu religious leaders be released immediately without any preconditions and security be provided to protect all Hindu temples and religious places.
Convenor of ‘Jagrato Bangla’ Ranjan Chowdhury told the officials that as long as Bangladesh maintained cordial relations with India and followed secularism, it had made a lot of progress. However, if it ignored it, the situation of Bangladesh would become like Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Afghanistan. Another representative Subhagat Das said that the current head of the caretaker government is not following his own words. Niranjan Bose said that during the freedom struggle when West Pakistan stopped the supply of food grains to the then East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), there was a huge shortage of food and people were dying of hunger. At that time ISKCON distributed food to millions of people of all religions in Bangladesh for several days.
Representatives of ‘Jagrato Bangla’ warned that if the Bangladesh government does not take immediate steps, there will be a worldwide movement and they will start a movement all over India and will also take this matter to the United Nations.
Let us tell you that the ‘Jagrato Bangla’ organization works for Sanatani Bengalis and protects Bengali language, culture and art and literature. This organization raises its voice against any kind of atrocities against Bengalis around the world.
